Τα Ακαδημαϊκά Ιδρύματα αποτελούν τους κατεξοχήν χώρους διαρκούς δημιουργίας νέας γνώσης με ιδιαίτερες και αυξημένες ανάγκες προβολής και διαχείρισης. Παράλληλα, αποτελούν και φορείς διατήρησης υπάρχουσας ιστορικής γνώσης καθώς διαθέτουν πλούσια ιστορικά αρχεία. Ο «Συν-Τόπος» διαμορφώνεται ως ένας καινοτόμος ψηφιακός κόμβος ανοιχτής επιστήμης (open science), όπου η διασύνδεση και ο διαμοιρασμός αποτελούν τα θεμέλια για τη διαχείριση των ερευνητικών δεδομένων και της ακαδημαϊκής γνώσης. Στην πράξη, η υποδομή αναπτύσσεται ως ένα ψηφιακό οικοσύστημα υπό την ομπρέλα του Ιδρύματος, όπου η κάθε συμμετέχουσα ερευνητική ομάδα, εργαστήριο, τμήμα ή μεμονωμένος ερευνητής αποκτά και διαχειρίζεται τον δικό του τοπικό «Συν-Τόπο»· έναν αυτόνομο χώρο δεδομένων, ως διακριτή συνιστώσα μιας κεντρικής υποδομής αποθετηρίου. Στο εργαστήριο θα παρουσιάσουμε αναλυτικά τη φιλοσοφία και τις δυνατότητες αυτής της καινοτόμας προσέγγισης, που επιτρέπει στον κόσμο της ακαδημαϊκής κοινότητας να αναπτύξει ένα νέο και πιο αποδοτικό μοντέλο διαχείρισης της γνώσης.

Academic institutions are key environments for the continuous creation of new knowledge, generating growing needs for its effective management, dissemination, and reuse. At the same time, academic institutions also play a key role in preserving existing historical knowledge, as they hold rich and valuable historical archives. “Our Place” introduces an innovative digital hub for open science, built around the principles of interconnection, sharing, and distributed management of research data and academic knowledge.
The infrastructure is conceived as a digital ecosystem operating under the umbrella of the Institution. Within this ecosystem, each participating research group, laboratory, department, or individual researcher can establish and manage their own local “Our Place”: an autonomous data space that functions as a distinct component of a shared central repository infrastructure. This distributed approach combines local autonomy with institutional-level interoperability, enabling research communities to manage and expose their data and knowledge within a coherent and interconnected environment.
The workshop will present the underlying concept, architecture, and key capabilities of “Our Place”, demonstrating how this approach can support academic communities in adopting a more open, collaborative, and efficient model for research data and knowledge management.
